We're proud to offer some of the healthiest bacon available. This bacon is free of nitrates and nitrites. It is also from pasture-raised pigs who eat nutrient-dense non-GMO feed and forage for their natural diet outside (grass, insects, acorns, eggs, roots, fruits, etc.).
Our pigs' nutritional needs are met even more so than commercial hogs, and it shows in the quality and taste of their meat. As quality bacon has become harder to find in 2022, we're grateful to have maintained the quality this meat.
Pastured Smoked Bacon
Nitrates and nitrites are used in food preservation, particularly for curing meats like bacon. Today's food industry heavily uses synthetic nitrates and nitrites which can contribute to serious health issues.
Our bacon is nitrate and nitrite-free, and, as a result, is labeled "uncured". The good news is that you don't have to worry about it negatively affecting your health.
